Marking the Anniversary, Fighting the Lies
On January 6, 2022, Defenders of Democracy Against Disinformation, Hear Yourself Think, and many other co-sponsoring grassroots groups joined to mark the one-year anniversary of the attack on the Capitol and take action to protect our democracy from attacks to come.
Our focus was on countering one of the most significant sources of the disinformation that created the conditions for the Jan. 6 attack. Highlights:

We opened 7pm ET -- when, in 2021, Facebook closed down Donald Trump's Facebook and Instagram posts.

We concluded at 8pm ET -- when, in 2021, the Capitol Police declared the Capitol secure.

We were inspired by a keynote video from Congressman Jamie Raskin (D-MD), manager of the 2nd Trump impeachment and member of the House Select Committee on Jan. 6.
